Surgery Center Code-Blue
Per the 2018 Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI), outpatient surgeries are supposed to include signaling systems to notify people outside of the operating room when an emergency occurs so that someone at a telephone location can call 911. The includes a patient Call Cord for assistance, as well as Staff Assist or Code Blue buttons for staff to call for help in Pre-Op and Post-Op areas, promoting better care outcomes.
